I am here to reimagine the way we view cooking. For many it's just another chore. The funeral is also treated as something that must be rushed through. I wish to use the kitchen as a learning tool to teach those around us to pause.

My Story

I believe the best way to work through grief is by weaving it into our daily rituals and have chosen to make my focus the kitchen. Grief is treated like a disease we must cure, but I believe that it is simply part of the human condition. We have to embrace that to grieve, is to love. Grief is treated like a disease we must cure, but I believe that it is simply part of the human condition. We have to embrace that to grieve, is to love. I I have been a licensed funeral director for 7 years and co-founded and ran Undertaking LA, a mortuary in Los Angeles that believed that one of the best ways to process that a death has occurred is to be a more active participant in the funeral process. This can include washing and Cooking is a great way of stimulating creativity and providing space for meditation and being present. When people die we turn to eating as a form of self-care and cooking as a love language. I believe that encouraging both sides of this can provide on-going benefits in the discussion of grief, depression, and death anxiety.
