Calling all queer grievers: The holidays can intensify feelings of loss—whether from the death of a loved one, estrangement, or living with illness. You’re not alone.

What if we allowed space to remember our loved ones, to say their names, to tell their stories, to hold the empty, open chair with reverence?

My Inspiration
On August 9, 2020, my 16-year-old son, Jake, was a passenger in a vehicle killed in a reckless and senseless DUI crash on Block Island, RI. Since then, I have authored the book, "WALK ON", have become a national speaker on the topics of inspiration, grief, overcoming adversity and becoming the best version of yourself. Recently, I was moved to create The Open Chair Movement to allow and invite society to sit and touch their grief in public places, honoring their lost loved ones as well as their love for them which they carry forward today.
