My Inspiration
As a career emergency medicine physician, I want to know what my patients want so I provide the care they desire. As a 24-year Maryland state legislator, I want my constituents to be empowered to make informed medical decisions consistent with their values. Too often that does not happen simply for the failure to complete free, legal, readily available forms called advance directives. My book is based on my personal life experiences as well as my clinical and political life. It's easy to read, practical guidebook to help you better manage the challenging situations that may arise when dealing with advanced illness and death and dying.
